Dr. Navani completed her
Anesthesiology residency at the Medical College of Wisconsin, Milwaukee and
a fellowship in Pain Management from the University of California, Davis.
Thereafter, she joined as a faculty at the Department of Anesthesiology at
Stanford University School of Medicine. At Stanford, she served as Clinical
Assistant Professor in the Division of Pain Medicine, where she provided
care to acute, chronic and cancer pain patients. While at Stanford, Dr. Navani
initiated and developed a Spine Care program in collaboration with the Department
of Neurosurgery. This program manages spine patients in a structured medical
setting with cutting-edge pharmacological and interventional technology.
She is board certified in Anesthesiology and Pain Management by American
Board of Anesthesiology.
Dr. Navani is actively
involved with several Pain and Medical societies, including the American
Society of Anesthesiology, American Academy of Pain Medicine, American Pain
Society, International Spine Intervention Society and International Association
for the Study of Pain. She currently serves as the member of the board of
directors at the California Society of Industrial Medicine and Surgery, a
delegate to Califonia Medical Association EMOS and also as the member of
the Editorial Board for the Journal of Cancer Pain. She is a founding member
of California Consortium to Promote Stay at Work/Return to Work as well as
the immediate Past President of The American Association of Physicians of
Indian origin. She has authored several publications and has been an invited
speaker at many regional and national Pain meetings. Dr. Navani was awarded
the 2001 "Honorable Mention Award" from The New York State Society of Anesthesiologists
for her work with use and development of ultrasound technology for interventional
procedures. She is currently involved in monthly medical educational programs
that focus on awareness of physicians, allied medical professionals and community
towards common pain and health related problems.
Dr. Molly
Massih graduated from San Jose State University with a Bachelor of Science
with major in Biology and minor in Chemistry. She then traveled abroad and
obtained her medical degree from American University in Plymouth, Montserrat.
She went on to perform her clinical training in London, England and Los Angeles,
California. Dr. Massih has been a Clinical Research Assistant in the Department
of Psychiatry at Stanford University. Her internship was at the Medical University
of South Carolina in the combined fields of Internal Medicine, Neurology and
Psychiatry. She performed her residency at UCLA/WLAVA in Los Angeles. During
her residency she also participated in a research study with Spinal Cord
Injury patients and their chronic, long term problems. As a physiatrist and
special interest in pain management, she ensures that psychological, social
and behavioral factors are not ignored. Dr. Massih is currently board certified
in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and is a Qualified Medical Evaluator.
She specifically concentrates on treating spine conditions and musculoskeletal
and sport injuries. Her practice also includes electrodiagnostic studies
such as EMG and NCS in relation to spine injuries or sport injuries involving
major joints, muscles and nerves in the body. She belongs to the California
Society of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, American Iranian Medical
Association, and American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation.
Dr. Massih is fluent in Farsi.
Gang Li, M.D., Ph.D.
Dr. Li is a board certified, Harvard-trained anesthesiologist and Stanford-trained interventional Pain Medicine specialist. He has completed Anesthesiology residency from Massachusetts General Hospital and Harvard Medical School and fellowship in Multidisciplinary Pain Management at Stanford University School of Medicine. Prior to the specialty training, he graduated from Peking Union Medical College in Beijing, China, one of the most prestigious medical schools in China. Dr. Li received his Ph.D. degree from the University of Florida for his study in neuropharmacology of Aging and metabolic disorders.
Dr. Li specializes in the treatment of back and neck pain, facial pain, headaches, myofascial pain syndromes, neuropathic pain, persistent abdominal and/or pelvic pain, complex regional pain syndrome, cancer pain, and post-surgical pain.
Dr. Shaliza Shorey, PsyD
As a medical psychologist Dr. Shorey specializes in working with individuals suffering from complex chronic conditions including chronic pain and neuropsychological conditions. Dr. Shorey uses a Collaborative Care Model to help diagnose, treat and monitor progress of her patients. After years of working in hospital and clinical settings, Dr. Shorey has come to appreciate the Mind-Body connection in maintaining ones health. She works with her patients to help them restore balance in their nervous system by including Stress Inoculation Training, biofeedback, relaxation skills and cognitive behavioral techniques for “minding the mind” to better manage the body. The goals of treatment are geared towards helping individuals better manage their physical and mental health and maintain their quality of life.
Dr. Shorey obtained her doctorate degrees in clinical psychology from the California School of Professional Psychology and completed her post doctorate fellowship in Neuropsychology from UC Davis Medical Hospital. She has served on the medical staff of various hospitals including working as a neuropsychologist and clinical director of the pain management program at Kaiser Permanente. She has taught numerous classes and conducted groups on managing chronic pain and coping with chronic illnesses.
Diana Abovsky, LAc, DAOM
Dr. Diana Abovsky received a
Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of California, Davis and
a Master of Science degree from the American College of Traditional Chinese
Medicine in San Francisco. She then completed a doctorate in Pain Management
at the Five Branches University in San Jose. She is licensed by the California
State Board of Acupuncture and has extensive experience in biomedical research.
She serves as a lecturer on alternative medicine at the University of California,
San Francisco School of Medicine. Her specialty is chronic pain management
and conditions aggravated by stress.

Zyskina, N.P.
Marina Zyskina
MSN, FNP is a board certified Family Nurse Practitioner. Marina received
her Bachelors in Nursing from San Francisco State University, graduating
top of her class. She worked as a staff nurse at Kaiser Permanente and as
a clinical nurse at UC Hastings. Marina completed her Masters program in
Nursing with concentration in Family Nurse Practitioner at San Francisco
State University in 2007. Recently she served as adjunct clinical instructor
at Samuel Merritt University. Marina emphasizes a holistic approach in caring
for her patients concentrating on their physical, psychosocial and emotional
needs.

Michelle
Rhea attended Loma Linda University for her Master’s Physician Assistant degree. Prior to that, she received her
Bachelor’s degree in Health Promotion
and Disease Prevention from USC. Michelle's passion for medicine has driven
her through eighteen years of education and numerous years gaining experience.
More important is the compassion she has for her patients, which is inseperable
from practicing medicine.
